Your next challenge?
As a strategic Media and PR specialist, you are at the center of events in an industry where everything goes lightning fast. Together with your colleagues you are the point of contact for all media relations for Telia Company and Telia Sweden, and you will have a key role to shape the company’s image in the media, both traditional and new media, long and short term and through daily proactive and reactive work. Your role will have the lead when it comes to financial communication, M&A, stock exchange-related issues, in and outside our footprint as well as handling customer related questions that concerns our Swedish market.

As one of the company’s spokesperson you will support issues and crisis preparedness by proactively developing and maintaining messaging and train and support other spokespeople.

You will also plan and execute PR strategies to build and protect Telia perception both within footprint, and in selected international markets via international media and cultivate and manage relationships with relevant international media, according to business priorities.

You will of course work collaboratively and proactively with our colleagues within Communications, local country communications teams, subject matter experts, public affairs, our business and others as required, in the development and execution of plans.

Who are you?
You are a trained and experienced spokesperson, used to prepare statements and give interviews in all types of media with short deadlines and are also able to also train and advise others. You have strong interpersonal skills and keep calm under pressure.

You are experienced in managing international PR with good business understanding, covering global business, ICT and financial media and directly managing key media relations. You are skilled in managing complex PR issues and crises, and working as part of a team to analyze, plan, act and evaluate, including the review, establishment and monitoring of relevant policies, procedures and reports.

Advanced writing skills is of course required, including but not limited to messaging, scripts, speeches, keynotes, articles, opinions for our different channels. You are also skilled in strategic and tactical planning and implementation, including target setting, performance analysis and able to conceptualize creative PR tactics and influencing programs, and prepare creative content and media briefs.

Qualifying requirements:

  • University/tertiary qualifications in Communications, PR or equivalent
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken Swedish and English
  • Thorough experience in Swedish and international media relations on agency or client side
  • Experienced in financial and share market communications – ideally having worked in a large, international noted company
  • Relevant subject matter expertise or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire required depth of understanding for issues management, i.e. insights into sustainability/human rights/ethics, security and geopolitical issues associated with the ICT and media sector
  • Interest for tech and innovation related issues, as we’re an innovative tech company, is of course meriting
